Tarja is a lightweight and charming open front cardigan with a modern and unique yoke. Thanks to the European construction, the sweater fits perfectly and doesn’t slip off the shoulders. The wide lacey collar wraps you nicely and, at the same time, draws attention with its intricate openwork. The cardigan has been designed to be worn with small positive ease at the bust, which guarantees comfort and freedom of the movement.

The sweater is worked seamlessly from top down. The pattern contains charts and written instructions for the lace.

To make the cardigan you’ll need ( 4, 4, 5 ) { 5, 5 } ( 5, 6, 6 ) skeins or ( 1425, 1512, 1628 ) { 1745, 1860 } ( 1976, 2083, 2198 ) m / ( 1558, 1654, 1780 ) { 1908, 2034 } ( 2161, 2278, 2404 ) y.

Note: The yardage is estimated, based on yarn consumption of my sample. The sweater length is adjustable - if you make the cardigan shorter, you’ll need less yarn. Check out please versions of my test knitters, as they have made this cardigan with various lengths.

Needles
3.25 mm / US #3 circular needles and DPNS, or size needed to get the proper gauge.
3.0 mm / US #2.5 circular needles and DPNS, or one size smaller than the gauge needles.
Note: Adjust needle length to garment’s circumference and your preferences.

Gauge
26 sts and 36 rows/rounds per 10cm / 4 ”, in stockinette stitch with 3.25 mm / US #3 needles. Measure the gauge after washing and blocking the swatch.
