Tassa Cardigan is a standard fitting cardigan made from 100% Norwegian wool. It is designed as a basic everyday piece that can be paired with jeans or a pair of tailored trousers. The buttoned sleeve cuffs and set-in sleeves add a sharp and tailored look to the garment. The lace pockets and waist shaping add a feminine touch to the overall look. The combination of these design elements makes Tassa Cardigan a special piece to knit, own and wear.

Borrowing an idea from Olga, my dear test knitter, this design looks lovely with different colour bands and pockets.

Construction Notes:

Tassa Cardigan is worked flat, bottom-up with set-in sleeves. All pieces are worked in Stockinette stitch. The Front and Back pieces are shaped at the waist. The patch pockets are worked in a simple lace pattern.

The ribbing at the sleeve cuffs is extended to include a 5-button closure. The Back and Front pieces are seamed together at the sides and shoulders. Sleeves are set in. Rib borders are picked up to form the Front button and buttonhole bands and the neckband.

Techniques used: Simple lace knitting, increasing, decreasing, bind off, chart-reading skills or able to follow written instructions, seaming and setting in sleeves.

Skill level: Intermediate level
