A sweater with tattoos in duplicate stitch! It’s quickly knitted on size 6 needles, and that’s a good thing, because it gives you time to really do your best with the duplicate-stitch embroidery.

The pattern includes a couple of
tattoo ideas you can embroider, but let your imagination run free and knit yourself the tattoo you don’t dare get on your body! You can even embroider your loved one’s name.
You can always undo it again if the love doesn’t last. So go all out.

Sizes: S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL)

Bust circumference: 90 (100) 110 (120) 130 (140) cm, measured from armhole to armhole on the sweater.

Length: 52 (52) 57 (57) 57 (57) cm, measured from the shoulder to the hem.

Yarn: 1 strand of Lang Yarn Carpe Diem (50 g = 90 m). In addition,leftover yarn in your favorite colors for embroidery.
Choose a yarn weight that matches the sweater yarn, or embroider with 2 strands so the yarnfully covers the original stitches of the sweater.

Yarn usage: 8 (9) 9 (10) 11 (12) skeins of Lang Yarn Carpe Diem.
You decide how much leftover yarn you want to use for embroidery.

Needles: Circular needles 6 mm (40, 60 and possibly 80 cm depending on the size you are knitting).
For the sleeves, you can knit with a circular needle using the magic loop technique or with double-pointed needles 6 mm.

Gauge: 10 cm × 10 cm = 16 sts × 24 rows in stockinette stitch.

Techniques: Italian cast-on and bind-off, increases on the right side (M1R and M1L), increases on the wrong side (PM1R and PM1L), decreases, German Short Rows (abbreviated GSR), duplicate stitch, and running
stitch.

Our Tattoo Sweater is knitted top-down with raglan increases for the sleeves. It has a raised neckline, which provides a good fit. The sweater is
close-fitting and short in length, so go up one size if you want a looser fit.
When the knitting is finished, the sweater is decorated with
duplicate-stitch embroidery.
