Temperature Heart
This pattern was originally written with the intention of being used as a yearly temperature blanket square for an anniversary or birthday project. The pattern consists of three “heart rounds” for a base heart (two colors of pink), 12 rounds of temperature-based colors from a chart, and then a border/contrast color (white). The 12 rounds of temperature-based colors may have repeats of the same color more than once, depending on the recorded temperatures.
The pattern, of course, does not have to be used for a temperature project.
The example shown in the photos is the first square with historical high temperatures of each 19th of the month for the year 1991 in San Diego. Round 1 (after base heart) = January 19th, 1991; round 2 = February 19th, 1991, etc. Alternatively, this pattern can be used for a weekly temperature through round 9, and then additional rounds made of a border color in order to get the size motif desired.
This is a LARGE square - 15”.
