The Tendril Tapestry Scarf is a reversible design featuring a simple double-knit climbing flower motif set against a cozy garter stitch background.

The core of this pattern uses two strands of contrasting colour yarn held together for the garter stitch sections. The motif itself is worked in true double knitting - separating the yarns to create two equally beautiful sides with stockinette on each face. This colourwork technique is very neat, leaving no floats at the back!

This pattern continues the Daisy Chain series, sharing a similar floral motif. However, unlike previous patterns in the series where the motif was worked along the garter ridges, the Tendril Tapestry Scarf motif grows perpendicular to the ridges and includes delicate leaf elements. This new direction creates a smoother, wavy line and a more realistic look for the stem, giving the fabric a new dynamic.

Pattern Features

  • Reversible double-knit colourwork
  • Worked primarily in garter stitch
  • Knit with two strands of contrasting yarn (held together or separated)
  • Slip stitch selvedges for a neat edge
  • Uses a crochet-chain cast on and bind off for elasticity and polish

Yarn & Yardage
Choose fingering weight yarn in two solid or semi-solid contrasting colours to achieve the best definition for the double-knit motif. Soft, luxurious yarns like Alpaca, Camel, Yak, or single-ply merino are recommended for drape and comfort.

The shown sample was knit with Lumoava Jakki by Nettilanka (60% SW Merino, 20% Silk, 20% Yak; 437 yds (366m) /100g) in colourways Kymppi and Violetti.

Yardage: You will need 437 yds (366 m) / 100 g of each contrasting colour.
