Description:

Tennis Mosaic Blanket is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern. It shows tennis rackets and a trophy, some bouncing tennis balls, and two tennis players taking part in a match. The colours of this throw are inspired by the greens of Wimbledon lawn tennis courts with white lines on the courts, and also by the blue of hard tennis courts.

This is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern, worked row by row. Each row is worked in one colour. At the end of each row the yarn is cut, and the next row is worked on the front side of the work again with the other colour. This pattern does not include any slanted or angled stitches, just standard stitches.

Charts and written patterns are included for both right-handed and left-handed use.

Size:
This item is 169 stitches wide and has 233 rows. In DK yarn it will be about 89cm wide and 128cm long (about 35” wide and 50” long). If you choose to add a border, this will make it a bit bigger. The size will be affected by yarn type, yarn brand, hook size and tension.

Yarn:
You can use any yarn and hook size you like for this pattern, just be aware that the resulting size may be different, and it may use a different amount of yarn.

Hook: 4.0 mm
3 x 100g balls of Colour A (Bottle) - uses about 518 metres (566 yards)
4 x 100g balls of Colour B (White) - uses about 947 metres (1036 yards)
3 x 100g balls of Colour C (Meadow) - uses about 673 metres (736 yards)
2 x 100g balls of Colour D (Cornish Blue) - uses about 419 metres (458 yards)
2 x 100g balls of Colour E (Sunshine) - uses about 336 metres (367 yards)

This pattern does not include a border. You have the option of leaving the ends as a fringe, sewing them in, or adding an envelope border if you prefer.
