The Ternary Blanket pattern is for a modular equilateral triangle, with additional instructions for using these modular triangles to assemble a hexagonal blanket in one of three sizes. The equilateral triangle is also the perfect building block to make a custom blanket, scarf, shawl, or whatever you please!

Each equilateral triangle is worked in-the-round from the outside edge in. New triangles are joined by picking up stitches from previously worked triangles. Or the triangles can be made individually and seamed together before working the border.

Brioche is a very flexible stitch that works well with many different fiber types and weights, so please experiment to achieve a result you love!

Pattern is provided in written form. Also provided are links to video demonstrations for the cast-on, the brioche decreases, and for grafting the i-cord bind-off in-the-round.

Finished Triangle Size: An equilateral triangle with sides of 8.125 in/ 20.5 cm and height of 7 in/ 17.75 cm

Finished Blanket Sizes S | M | L:
38.5 in/ 98 cm diameter | 55 in/ 139.5 cm in diameter | 71 in/ 180.5 cm in diameter (measured corner-to-corner)

Gauge
8 rounds and 30 stitches are 2.25 in/5.75 cm and 8.125 in/20.5 cm after blocking (this is equivalent to one side of the triangle).

Gauge is very important if working to the 8.125 in/20.5 cm specification but may be adjusted as desired to fit a custom size.
