This pattern is knit diagonally in two pieces and joined in the center using a three needle bind-off. It’s recommended that you have two 36” circular needles (one for each piece), especially for the bind-off.

I designed this pattern to use two balls of Bernat Baby Jacquard because I had purchased two mark-down balls and was at a loss for what to do with it; my only plan was that I wanted a blanket and I wanted to knit it on the diagonal. This blanket comes out a little small, but it would work well as a toddler’s security blanket or a stroller/car seat blanket. The use of stockinette and seed stitch panels provides interest while knitting.

The pattern can easily be adapted to make a larger blanket, you would just continue to work more rows until you were satisfied with the width of the diagonal.
