The pattern for the Textured Squares Baby Blanket is clearly written, and easy to knit.

Although the blanket has the appearance of a patchwork, it is actually knit in 3 panels, which are then seamed along their side edges.
Each panel is constructed by knitting different textured squares, and just changing colors for the patchwork appearance.

You could easily make the blanket larger by adding panels and/or squares.
The pattern includes information regarding additional yarn requirements for adapting the size.

As written, blanket measures 20” wide x 26” long (after blocking), and requires a total of 530 yds DK weight yarn (290 yds color A, 240 yds color B) and size 6 needles (either straight or circular needles can be used, since blanket panels are knit flat), locking ring markers and tapestry needle.

Sample was knit using a total of 2 skeins of Berroco Vintage DK yarn as follows:
1 skein of color 2171 (Calico), and 1 skein of color 2101 (Mochi).

Skills required include casting on, knitting, purling, binding off, and basic mattress stitch seaming.

As always, thanks to my knitting students, who inspire and encourage me to design simple and impressive patterns, for extraordinary knitters!

Enjoy, and please post photos of your finished blanket!
