Crochet pattern for a textured bath or shower mitt.

This wash mitt has a central panel with a nubbly texture, which is easy to work. It also has a neat edging for a ‘finished’ look and an optional hanging loop - important details often missing from other patterns.

This pattern is part of my matching bathroom set - buy them together for a discount. See my Bathroom Pattern Bundle for details.

The other items shown in the last two pictures are not included in this pattern, but are also available.

To complete one washcloth you will need:

  • 115m (126yards) of double-knitting (DK, light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn of your choice.
  • 4.5mm (7) crochet hook
  • 5mm (8-H) crochet hook
  • a yarn needle

The pattern includes detailed notes on yarn choice.

The finished mitt is 15cm (6”) wide and 20cm (8”) long.

Important feature of my crochet patterns:
My crochet patterns include BOTH a detailed ‘tutorial-style’ set of instructions with colour photos, AND a succinct unillustrated pattern using standard crochet conventions.
I have developed this style because I find I like to see a lot of detail the first time I work a pattern, but if I then work the same piece again, I don’t need the pictures, etc, and indeed they can get in the way when I just want a quick reminder of what I’m doing. The PDF is also structured so that the succinct version, with an area for your own notes, is on a single page, making it easy to just take one sheet of paper with you if you have printed it out for quick reference on the move.

I hate weaving in yarn ends, so this pattern minimizes this. If you work it exactly as shown, you will only have one yarn end to work in!

This pattern is available in both UK and US crochet terminology. Both files will be available for you on purchase and you can choose whichever you prefer to use.

The UK pattern names suitable yarns currently available in the UK that work perfectly for this pattern.

Once purchased, this pattern remains the copyright of Little Conkers. You may not reproduce all or any part of this pattern. Please do not sell items made from this pattern, without express prior permission (which is usually granted) and credit.
