The name Textus comes from Latin, meaning a woven structure or fabric. The design is built from travelling stitches that repeatedly cross paths. Despite its intricate appearance, the stitch pattern is rhythmic and intuitive, making it an engaging knit.
Worked from the brim upward in the round, the fabric naturally pulls in to create a snug, flattering fit. This pattern includes instructions for four yarn weights in one size. The stitch pattern is a multiple of twelve stitches over four rounds; therefore, the circumference is not easily adjusted.
Skill Level ~
Advanced beginner. There are written and video tutorials to ensure success every step of the way.
Method ~
Knitted from the brim up in the round.
Size ~
Designed for an average adult head circumference of approximately 56 cm / 22”.
Finished measurements for each yarn weight are provided within their respective sections.
Negative ease varies slightly depending on the chosen yarn weight.
Due to the nature of the stitch pattern, the fabric pulls in significantly, resulting in a narrower and taller piece when measured off the needles. When worn, the fabric stretches widthwise, which shortens the overall height and creates the intended fit
