The Bicolour Cowl uses a crochet stitch that uses 2 colours to create every stitch - that’s how the cowl gets its name. The bottom half of the stitch is made with one colour and then the top is made with a second colour. This makes the crochet stitch look a bit like a knitted stitch, especially on the back side.

I used left over yarn from my Ray Of Hope sampler blanket to make this pattern, so it’s a great scrap yarn project. You just need a background colour to tie all the different colours together.

To make the Bicolour Cowl you will need:

• A total of 550 meters of yarn - I chose Stylecraft Special DK. 150m of your background colour, the rest in whatever mix of colours you have available or want to use.
• 4mm hook
• A needle to weave in your ends

This pattern would suit an intermediate crocheter and the instructions include pictures to show every step of the pattern and how this unusual stitch is made.
