Do you ever think that sock yarn has great potential? That it could be meant for bigger things than socks? More noticeable things than socks? This hat will show off sock yarn beautifully without long amounts of stockinette stitch, and without being knit in the round.

This slouchy hat can be worn everyday (hence the name), and has a pretty little stitch pattern to top it off, called double moss stitch. This stitch is just as easy as its cousin, the normal moss stitch, also known as seed stitch, and requires minimal attention. This makes this hat a great knit to have on your needles during a TV binge.

To make this hat a real statement, stick an actual statement on there! The plain base of this hat is also great to showcase that special brooch, pin, badge, or button; whatever you want as long as you have a way of attaching it.

So have fun knitting this simple slouch, and decorate it to the nines, or graffiti it to your heart’s desire.
