The Celestial Tiles
Meet the Celestial Tiles. This is another mosaic tile pattern, the seventh in this collection, and once again, it features a different size and theme. All other tile patterns had a common theme on the ground – and in particular countries, this time, we will go up to higher ground and explore the world above us. This tile will feature various celestial objects, including the half-moon, stars, and clouds. As I thought this celestial theme didn’t need an explosion of colors, I chose to keep it to the best two colorways that match this theme, combined with many white, twinkling stars.
General information about the pattern:
Yarn Requirements: I used Scheepjes Catona in different colors. Scheepjes Catona is available in 10/25 and 50-gram balls, with a length of 125 meters for the 50-gram ball. You can buy this yarn in smaller amounts since you’ll only need a few grams of some colors. This will save you some money.
The main colorway in the pattern is 110 Jet Black, which you will need for the entire pattern. This color is marked as Color A in this pattern. As Color B, you will always use Colorway 105, Bridal White.
As we have two color versions, a blue and a yellow, Color C – F depends on which color version you work on.
The Yellow Celestial colorway:
Color C: colorway 101 Candlelight
Color D: colorway 522 Primrose
Color E: colorway 208 Yellow Gold
Color F: colorway 249 Safron
The Blue Celestial colorway:
Color C: colorway 509 Baby Blue
Color D: colorway 247 Bluebird
Color E: colorway 261 Capri Blue
Color F: colorway 527 Midnight
In total, you will need approximately. 2500-2600 meters of yarn for this blanket. A full list of needed colors and amounts can be found on my website in the related post about this pattern.
Crochet hook needed: In this pattern, you will use a 3,0mm hook for the entire pattern.
Size: One finished tile will be 32x32 cm / 13 x 13 inches
The finished blanket will measure 100 x 100 cm / 40 x 40 inches
