The Chain is a mosaic crescent shaped shawl, knit from the top down. Inspired by the knitted links (stitches) that join us, the pattern motif is created using one color per row of two high contrasting shades. My sample is knit using worsted weight, however the design would also knit up beautifully in a variety of yarn weights, from fingering to worsted.

The Chain includes fully written and charted instructions. I designed this shawl with beginners in mind, as the bold patterning and intuitive repetitions are well suited for a beginner … although, considering its timeless design, I think it is a relaxed and soothing knit for a more advanced knitter as well. Perfect for gift knitting too, as The Chain is impressive in scale and patterning, yet knits up super quick!
