The Checkerboard Top is a zip-front tank top, featuring the checkerboard stitch pattern, slanted zipper in the front, and a high neckline with a doubled knitted collar. This pattern uses adaptive math to ensure a custom fit regardless of your gauge or body measurements.

This is an advanced knit, and it is worked top down. First, the top of the back is worked. The neckline in the back is shaped with German Short Rows technique, and worked until the underarm. Then the front panels on the left and right side are picked up and worked separately towards the underarm. These are then joined together, and the body is worked in the flat.

The zipper slant will be shaped simultaneously throughout the entire garment, along with bust, waist, and lower waist shaping. The Checkerboard stitch is used throughout the entire garment, while rib stitch is used for the armhole edges and both sides of the main body. The collar is picked up once the main body is done, and worked in double knitting.

Zippers are attached at the very end, after the garment is blocked and dried completely.
