Introducing

The Eden Baby Christening Bonnet
a beautiful crochet pattern for a little vintage-look baby bonnet for Christening/Baptism/Blessing occasions, baby portrait or every day use.

Suitable yarns for this pattern are DK cotton yarns.

Intermediate Crochet Pattern

four sizes
Newborn-3 Months (completed bonnet crown diameter measures approx. 4.5”-5”)
3-6 Months (bonnet crown diameter measures approx. 5”- 5.25)
6-12 Months (5.25” - 5.75”)
12-24 Months (5.75” - 6.25”)

Written pattern in English only.

Pattern has US and UK crochet terms.

Hook sizes depend on desired bonnet size -
Nb-3m 4mm and 3.5mm hooks
3-6m 4.5mm and 4mm hooks
6-12m 5mm and 4.5mm hooks
12-24m 5mm and 4.5mm hooks

You Will Need-
DK cotton yarn. I used Hoooked Somen 100g.
1 skein is enough to make 2-3 bonnets, depending on size of bonnet.
Tapestry Needle
Measuring Tape
Stitch Marker if required
Scissors

Gauge/Tension
With 4mm hook, 18 dc/uktc and 10 rows is 4”x4” (10cmx10cm)

Stitches/Terms Used
Sk - Skip Stitch/stitches
Ch - Chain
SS - Slip Stitch
St - Stitch/stitches
Sc/UKdc - single crochet/UK double crochet
Dc/UKtc - double crochet/UK treble crochet
Hdc/ukhtc - half double crochet/uk half treble crochet
Shell - 3dc/uktc, ch 1, 3dc/uktc all in the same space
PS or Puff Stitch - pull the loop on your hook up to around 1cm tall, yarn over, go into stitch, pull up a loop x 4 times, pull through all loops on hook, ch 1 to lock the stitch
V-Stitch - dc/uktc, ch 1, dc/uktc, all in the same space
