The Fairisle Hat
This stocking stich hat is doubled so that the floats for the fairisle sections are covered. The cuff is then turned up (4 layers) to show the motif. The cast on edge and part of the top of the hat are knit in a mock rib, every other needle, to reduce bulk.
The book includes instructions on how to make your own motif, and how to centre it on the hat.
Sport weight yarns are suggested for this project, or 2 strands of 2/15 or 2-3 strands of 2/24 yarn. 3 - 4 oz will be used.
It is the eighth lesson in the book.
