Imposter syndrome feels real - this psychological term refers to doubting our accomplishments due to an internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud, often hindering action. I designed this shawl as a response to that feeling, to remind everyone of their own validity, their own capability. To encourage you to try that new thing or learn that new skill, that sometimes things look or seem harder than they really are.

This semi-circular shawl starts with a garter-tab and works from the top down using increases on right-side rows to create the halfmoon shape. The purl-twist stitch looks complicated and adds texture to the piece without being complicated to perform. The stockinette side panels look beautiful and airy in the slightly loose gauge, and blocking really opens the entire shawlette shawl up.

Exact size and gauge are not required for this project, and it should work up beautifully in a wide variety of weights and fibers. I would just encourage you to work at a gauge that gives you a lighter, drapey result in blocked stockinette. Instructions are included to modify the size of the finished piece. Any changes to gauge or size will change the amount of yarn required.

This pattern includes written instructions, and has been fully test knitted and professionally tech edited!
