The Indy Wrap
This fun textured piece is the very first shawl I’ve designed! I really enjoy knitting this type of wrap because it can get hot in Texas, and I need something versatile. I’m a lover of texture and enjoyed using different stitch types and patterns to make this shawl fun to touch all over!
Final Dimensions
The completed shawl (unblocked) measures 25 inches tall and 48 inches wide.
The completed shawl (after wet blocking) measures 34 inches tall and 65 inches wide.
Gauge
Unblocked: 14 sts x 22 rows = 4”x4” in stockinette (worked flat)
Wet Blocked: 12 sts x 24 rows = 4”x4” in stockinette (worked flat)
Materials Needed
• US 8 (5mm) circular knitting needles with up to a 48” cord
• 550-600 yards of Worsted (4) weight yarn.
- For my sample, I used Madeline Tosh Vintage (Color: Joshua Tree)
• 4 Stitch Markers
• Darning Needle
• Scissors
This shawl is worked from the top down, center out.
This means your bind off is along the sides of the downward point.
The I-cord edging you work on each row will create the long top edge, and your bind off will create the other two edges!
