This eye-catching cowl features a bold colour work design inspired by tribal patterns. The repeating motifs are easy to follow but provide an interesting and addictive knit with an attractive finished design.

Sizing Guide
The pattern instructions guide you in making a wide, tubular cowl which wraps around the neck once. Finished measurements of the sample shown are approximately 9” wide and 26” long.

Yarn
The cowl can be knit in two contrasting DK or Aran weight yarns.
In the sample shown, the dark grey yarn is Ribston DK in Charcoal held together with a strand of Scheepjes Stardust mohair blend in Scorpio for added cosiness and luxury, and the pale pink is Bergere de France Twiste in Beige Rose.
Approximately 170g total yarn weight.
EITHER:
Up to 425m DK weight yarn (285m MC; 140m CC)
OR
Up to 340m Aran / Worsted weight yarn (220m MC; 110m CC)

Gauge
If using DK weight yarns, on 4mm (US size 6) needles, 24 sts in stockinette over 24 rounds creates a 4x4” square following the colourwork pattern.
If using Aran / Worsted weight yarns, recommended needle size is 4.5mm (US size 7), in which case gauge would be 20 sts over 22 rounds.
