This is a pattern for a knit shawl that features two lace stitches the are both very unique. The focal stitch, a Russian stitch, seems to keep “moving” as you watch it, both while knitting and while wearing. The border stitches (there is an extra one included with the pattern, see below) are traditional Shetland lace stitches.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting).

The two (three) stitches are both charted and written out line by line. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging. Note: There is an additional border stitch included in the pattern (a tighter knit) for those who do not want to make the crocheted edging.

The wrap was expertly pattern tested by Page Zelasko, who can be contacted at: izazbz @yahoo.com, and it was knit using Mrs. Crosby’s Hat Box yarn in the colorway, “A New Leaf.”
