Neptune is part of The Planets Collection, a collection of shawl patterns inspired by the orchestral suite The Planets by Gustav Holst. This shawl features a lace pattern developed using a system of encoding words into knitting patterns developed by Naomi Parkhurst. In this case, the word Neptune was used to create the lace pattern. Neptune begins as a top down triangle, then the two sides of the triangle are knit separately on the bias to create a long trapezoid shape. The sample was knit with Sparkly from Flying Goat Farm.
