The Quinn Beanie
The Quinn Beanie is a unisex beanie created with weight 6 yarn. It features a short-row cuff, and then after that the body of the hat is constructed with a seamless spiral.
One side of the hat has a pronounced spiral ridge that goes up the entire hat. The other side of the hat has a more subtle pebbled texture.
The hat can can be worn as a slouchy beanie with the cuff folded down, or as a warmer, shorter beanie with the cuff rolled up.
This pattern is written to use exactly 1 skein of Wool Ease Thick and Quick (80m/140g per skein). Adjustments to pattern may require another skein or a larger skein.
The bulk of this hat is done using “third loop extended half double crochets” which sound much more complicated than they are. Once you understand how the pattern works, it works up very quickly and is great for gifts or a relaxing crochet project.
The hat is stretchy, and will look smaller at first but stretches to accommodate most heads. It is also very easy to add extra rows to the band and the top of the hat if necessary to increase the size.
