The Simply Basic Beanie
This pattern is also available in a free, ad-supported version on the hammerprints blog.
In 2020 I was serving in a youth ministry position, and when our meetings went online we spent a lot of time playing Jackbox games. From one such game, I was given the title “Extremely Basic Simple Square.” I’m clearly over it (since I’m still thinking about it five years later), but it still got me thinking – sometimes you just need a basic starting point from which to let your creativity flow. And a brim to crown knitted hat with an extra squishy, folded ribbed band seems like just the thing. With 2 strands of light DK yarn held double, it knits up quickly and easily adapts to countless color combinations.
