Wrap a Mermaid’s Tail around your neck!

The Siren Scarf is a cabled, asymmetric scarf that I designed to be wound around the neck for warmth and a touch of dramatic flair.

It only requires a single skein of either DK or Worsted weight yarn so it’s a quick and inexpensive knit and that makes it great for gift-giving also.

The pattern is written such that every row is instructed, special decreases are explained and stitch counts are also given for a totally fuss-free knit.

Yarn
100g of DK or Worsted weight yarn (approx. 200m). The wide end prior to the straight section takes approximately 70m of yarn.

I used one skein of Augustbird White Gum Wool 8ply (236m/100g) for the red sample and one skein of Mosaic Moon Kona Aran (192m/100g) for the green sample.

Needles & Notions
Pair of 3.5mm (US 4) or 4mm (US 6) needles
Pair of 4mm (US 6) or 5mm (US 8) needles
Cable needle & 2 markers

Tension/Gauge
Not really important. I advise to use the needle size recommended on the yarn band as a reasonably firm fabric will hold the shape of this scarf and give a more dramatic effect.

Finished Size (approx.)
DK version: L= 105cm, W (max) = 38cm, W (min) = 13cm.
Worsted version: L= 116cm, W (max) = 39cm, W (min) = 14cm.
