Donna Druchunas’s re-creation of a vintage knitted rag
rug will brighten up your home. She found the original in an antiques store in North Carolina. This version is identical to the original, except that it is made out of yarn made from recycled T-shirts.

Materials

• Ribbon XL, 80% recycled cotton/20% other recycled fi bers yarn, bulky weight, 142 yards (129.8 m)/250 gram (8.8 oz) skein, 3 skeins of Solid Black (MC), 2 skeins each of Denim Blue (CC1) and Sporty Grey (CC2), and 1 skein each of Medium Grey (CC3), Apple Green (CC4), and Passion Purple (CC5); www.hoooked.nl/ribbonxl
• Needles, size 10½ (6.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Sewing needle and thread

Finished size: 33 x 43 inches (83.8 x 109.2 cm)
