The Structured Sweater

The Structured Sweater is inspired by a one-size manufactured sweater (size 2). The body is worked from the bottom up and the sleeves are worked from the top down. Arms and body are stitched together and collar is picked up and added at the end. This sweater was designed for a non-super wash Aran weight or heavy worsted weight yarn which helps keep the detail and structure.

A note about yarn selection:
Gauge and structure of yarn is very important for the garment to achieve its intended final look. The garment is meant to have good structure and little drape. In order to achieve that and avoid yarn that can’t meet gauge, it’s recommended to stick with the suggested yarn or choosing a yarn that is made with 100% non-superwash wool, has good toothiness, and is a true Aran weight yarn (meeting gauge provided above). Yarns deviating from this (other fibers, other weights, superwash treatments, etc) will still knit a beautiful garment, but it may be different than the sample shown of the finished garment.
Needles: US size 8 (5 mm) 16” (for neck and cuff ribbing) and 45-80” (for body ribbing) circular needles, US size 10 (6 mm) 16” (for arms) and 45-80” (for body) circular needles
