The Twister Mosaic Afghan
The Twister is created using the overlay mosaic technique.
It was developed from playing around with my Diamond Knots pattern. I really liked the effect of the yarn looking like it was twisting around, and The Twister was born.
This pattern has 5 different variations you can crochet.
- Design 1 – with a small diamonds and dots background
- Design 2 – with a striped background
- Design 3 – with a polka dot background
- Design 4 – with a filled and small diamond background
- Design 5 – with a cross background
It is entirely your choice which pattern to create.
Of course, you could end up making 5 different blankets or cushion covers
The PDF has one easy to read chart for each different design (with X’s for DCs) and corresponding written instructions.
Two PDF’s are available - one using US terms and one using UK terms.
You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet.
If using Stylecraft Special DK, you will need approximately 12 skeins for the main body of the blanket (including a simple 3-row border)
Approx. 1200 grams in total
Between 3220 - 3864 yards (2944 - 3533 metres) in total
This will create a blanket approximately 90cm x 120cm without a border.
You can of course create any size you want with any of the patterns.
I hope you enjoy creating your own Twister project.
