Meet the Virginia Hat! This hat pattern is knit in the round from the bottom-up. This is a great pattern for beginner knitters who are looking to try some new textures! The pattern alternates between stockinette and seed stitch and is knit seamlessly. This hat is designed to have a little bit of positive ease, so it will be fitted but won’t be too snug.

This design was inspired by my grandmother, who was a fellow crafter herself, and I decided to name the design after her!

I used the Red Heart Heat Wave yarn because I was intrigued by the concept of yarn that heats up when you wear it, and I can say it actually works if you’re out in the sun! If you’re looking to use up some yarn in your stash or have something specific you have your eye on, any yarn of similar weight will work just fine.

Enjoy!
