The Westwood Beanie
This is a digital knitting pattern in English that you will receive as a PDF file.
PATTERN OVERVIEW
The Westwood Beanie Pattern is a plaid/tartan inspired intermediate colorwork design. A majority of the pattern involves following a knitting chart (only 3 symbols used-easy to follow). There are 4 different types of colorwork rounds repeated throughout this pattern. I’ve included instructions with photos for the steps taken in each round type. This pattern involves long floats and a lot of ends to weave in!
✴︎ This pattern has not been professionally tech edited. Each size has undergone test knitting!✴︎
CONSTRUCTION/METHODS USED
The Westwood Beanie is knit bottom up & in the round, starting with the 2x2 ribbed edge. The body is knit using a mixture of stranded colorwork and intarsia techniques. The two main colors (colors 01 & 02) use the stranded colorwork technique, leaving floats on the inside of the beanie. Colors 03 and 04 are used to create the single stitch vertical lines, with each line being its own ball of yarn. Right & left leaning decreases (ssk & k2tog) are used for the crown of the beanie. Once there are no longer enough stitches to knit in the round on 16” cable circular needles, magic loop method or DPN’s are used until cast off.
