Years ago, I made myself this simple cowl to wear on my morning walks. It has been absolute workhorse of a knitwear item, worn half the year almost daily, and washed dozens of times (mine is made with Lion Brand Thick and Quick).

I recently made one for my husband Theo, who had cowl-envy on our morning walks.

My cowl is knit taller, and often gets folded down when I wear it, while Theo’s cowl is shorter, and gets worn just slouched.

Theo’s Cowl pattern comes with instructions to make a quick and simple neck warmer with less than one skein of super bulky yarn like Malabrigo Rasta or Lion Brand Thick and Quick.

The pattern is written for one size, average adult.

The cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up.
