It was delightful news when our friends announced they were having their first child. So I created this simple, but magically gratifying, baby blanket in tribute to them.

The heart of the blanket, a garter stitch centre, is knitted from the top to the bottom in one piece. After this the edge stitches are picked up on each of the four sides, forming a lace border that is crafted in the round.
