Three Sisters
Once there lived three sisters who liked to dress alike… well, almost alike. That’s why this cute pattern has three sweater variations and one extra cute skirt that will go with any of those. In other words - three patterns in one!
The short sleeve top pattern has three variations of lace inserts and each will produce a nice inverted curve on the front hemline. The lace inserts have enough space in their centers to add additional embellishments – small embroidery, beads, buttons, if you wish to do so.
The neckline has two variations of finishes, one – a simple bind off, another – an industrial finishing found in upscale “human” knitted clothing.
A fun little skirt made with a ruffle yarn. For the skirt any ruffle or lace yarn will work as long as it has eyelets along the top edge to knit through. The skirt has a tight fit to compensate for the puffy ruffles.
The pattern is for an intermediate knitter, but an advanced beginner can also give it a try.
It requires understanding of edge stitches, increasing and decreasing, making a bobble, meaning of “working patterns as established. Links to online tutorials are provided.
The gauge for the top is 7.5sts x 9.5 rs = 1” over stockinet stitch
The gauge for the skirt is 5.5 st = 1” ( as lace spreads stitches apart)
As always, use any yarn and any size needles that will give you the required gauge, the gauge is very important, or the finished outfit will not fit your doll.
