This pattern was designed to use your special yarns in stash to create many simple hats. When I designed this, I was searching for the perfect, simple project I could work on while reading. Sometimes, there was not enough time in the day for both, and a stockinette project was the perfect solution!

Paired with interesting shaping and a double folded brim, I tried to include fun elements into this project while keeping it simple. I have gifted this hat to friends and family, and every time it has fit like a charm! So whether you have a special skein of sock yarn that is too good for your feet (never!) or just need to rid yourself of single DK skeins, this pattern is for you!

Sizes: Small (Medium, Large)
Finished circumference of 17 (20, 22)” / 43 (51, 56) cm. Intended to be worn with 1-2” / 2.5-5 cm of negative ease.

Gauge: 21 sts x 32 rounds = 4”x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) in Stockinette (knit all rounds) on a US 6/4 mm needle using DK or fingering and mohair held together, after blocking.

Yarn Requirements:
45 (50, 50) g/200 (215, 220) yds/185 (200, 205) m of fingering weight yarn held with 15 (20, 25) g/200 (215, 220) yds/185 (200, 205) m of mohair
OR
80 (100, 100) g/ 200 (215, 220) yds/185 (200, 205) m of DK weight yarn

The pink sample is knit in Knitting for Olive Merino (100% merino wool, 50g/274 yds/250 m) held with Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (70% mohair 30% silk, 25g/247 yds/225 m) in color Flamingo in size Medium

For variety, I included images of a darker sample knit in Malabrigo Sock (100% SW Merino) in color Ursula held with one strand of Amano Yarns Uma (37% Sure, 37% Mohair, 26%silk) in color Black Sea and one strand of Premier Yarns Enchant(76% glitter, 24% Payette) in color City at Night. This was knit in size Small.
