Tidal Blouse
Launch special: enjoy the pattern for €5 until October 9th.
The Tidal Blouse is a feminine lace top designed as a companion to the Tidal Skirt. Worked seamlessly from the top down, it features a V-neckline with a knitted collar, an intricate lace bodice, long openwork sleeves, and a softly flared lower section finished with a decorative leaf border.
An optional crochet cord can be threaded through the openwork at the waist for a more defined silhouette, or the blouse can be worn loose for a relaxed, tunic-style fit.
Construction Note
The Tidal Blouse is worked seamlessly from the top down.
The back yoke is worked first, back and forth to the underarms. Stitches are then picked up along each shoulder edge to work the right and left fronts separately. Short rows are worked to shape the front shoulders for a better fit. The fronts are then shaped to form the V-neckline and are joined at the bottom of the neckline, after which the front is worked back and forth to the underarms.
The front and back are then joined at the bottom of the armholes, and the body is worked in the round. The lace patterns flow into one another as the body progresses, finishing with an openwork section and a decorative leaf border.
Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armholes. The sleeves are worked in the round from the top down in the openwork pattern and finished with the matching leaf border.
Stitches are picked up around the neckline to work the collar.
For an optional cinched-waist silhouette, a simple crochet chain cord is worked separately after the garment is completed, using the yarn held double, and and woven through the openwork at the waist. Alternatively, the blouse can be worn without the cord for a looser, tunic-style silhouette.
Both charted and written instructions provided.
