In the Bay of Fundy, there is a very neat phenomenon that happens due to the power of the tides; a tidal bore is when the tide pushes in so hard it can actually reverse the flow of a river. Tidal Bore features gently undulating waves until about the halfway point, where a simple welting pattern will introduce a new colour and then reverse the waves, so they flow the other way.
