The technique used is the same that is used in my pattern called a Tiered Cow. It is the fold-over (I call these ‘tiers’) that is often used with sweaters and with at least one entrelac hat pattern that I have tried. One the technique is learned, it goes very smoothly.

The hat uses less than a skein. However, if different colors are used, one needs a skein for each color. It could be a good way to use up scraps (of the right length.

It is a fun pattern and can be adjusted for different sizes.
