Thank you for your patience!

Do you need a set of warm ears during wintertime?
This fair isle style stranded hat is quite snug fitting, with an extra warm lining over forehead, neck and ears - perfect for cyclists under a helmet!

This is the first pattern from the Tile Flowers Series.

Yarninfo:
Knitted with only two strands of fingering / sock yarn (420 m / 100 g) in rounds, MC and CC.
You can knit with either

  • 2 balls of long self striping yarn as seen in the picture,
  • 1 self striping and one plain / semisolid yarn, or
  • 2 plain / semisolid yarns. The hat weights 65 g, but the MC (here green) needs approx. 1/3 more than the CC. Great to use up multicolored yarn left overs!

Special techniques:

  • Provisional CO
  • Pattern knitting on the purl-side
  • Central double decrease

Sizing:
The pattern is written for youth and adults. The head circumference given fits teens from 12 years, like in the photo of the girl wearing the cycle helmet.
If you want a hat for a younger person, I would suggest to use needles 2 or 2,25 mm. The same goes for people with a bigger head circumference like strongly built men, use needle 2,75 or 3 mm.
