“Tilkku” means ‘patch’ in Finnish. The design grew from the idea that handmade can, and sometimes should, look handmade, because that’s exactly what makes it special.

The beanie is worked in 1x1 ribbing with stripes along the way.

Sizes: 1 (2) 3

About the sizes: The beanie comes in sizes 1 (2) 3 which are equivalent for head circumference of 54-56 (57-59) 60-62 cm 21¼-22 (22½-23¼) 23½-24½ inches.

DETAILS:

Yarn: 150 (200) 200 g Viking Garn Snorre (100 g / 100 m 110 yds) or Hjertegarn Natur Uld (100 g / 100 m 110 yds) or Drops Snow (50 g /50 m 55 yds)

You can use as many colors as you like, but at least two colors. For a two-colored beanie, you’ll need about half of the gram amount of each color.

Needles: 5 mm US 8 / 40 or 60 cm 16 or 24 inches circular needles and 5 mm US 8 DPNs (or according to your knitting tension)

Gauge: 16 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches in 1x1 ribbing on 5 mm US 8 needles, after blocking
