Tiny Pine: encircle your neck with a lovely forest of trees! The lace pattern is simple to master and easy to keep your place- a lace worthy of knitting in public without fear of getting lost. From far away, the stitch patterns looks like a standard small lace design: cute, but not extraordinary. Up close, the lace reveals a secret: a garland of very small pine trees to adorn your neck, and keep you nice & warm. A quick knit for spring, yet festive for all seasons; lovers of nature, winter, and Christmas are all welcome. Tree huggers, rejoice!

Yarn: Worsted or aran weight yarn that is smooth and multi-plied (not too fuzzy), so the pattern will stand out nicely. Shown in: Dream in Color “Classy” in color “Pale Olive”. Classy is a heavy worsted merino superwash and comes in 250 yard (229 meters)/ 113 gram (4 ounce) hanks. I used ¾ of a skein (about 187 yds) for the smallest size: the leftovers from my tiny tree legwarmers. Your total yardage will depend on the height of your cowl.
Gauge: 4 sts/in (16 sts/4in, 16 sts/10cm) in pattern- unblocked. Please note: this is slightly larger than that used for the legwarmers.
Needles: 16 inch US size 6/4mm circular, or size needed to get gauge. This is one size larger than that used for the legwarmers.
Sizes (by circumference): 24in/61cm, 27in/68.5cm,30in/76cm, unblocked (may grow slightly with blocking). Width can be altered by adjusting gauge, or changing cast on number up or down in multiples of 6. Can be made any height you’d like.
