Who else loves to knit vanilla socks? Sometimes I find knitting patterned socks takes too much concentration, and I just want to relax and knit a plain ‘ol vanilla sock. Plus, a DK weight sock knits up much faster than a fingering weight sock!

These DK weight socks for newborns all the way up to 5 years were inspired by my little nieces. I chose Universal Yarns cotton DK because of its softness and cost efficiency. Cotton is great for babies--it’s breathable and easy on the skin.

These socks are knit cuff down, with a simple ribbed cuff and a heel flap and gusset. The pattern comes in 3 sizes, and tips on how to get the perfect foot length.

This pattern is written for any type of small in-the-round knitting technique, although I do not recommend 9-inch circulars, due to the small number of stitches.

These socks do not require blocking, since they are knit in 100% cotton. Of course, you are free to use whatever DK yarn you like!
