Toledo Cafe Cardigan
Inspired by the quiet, timeless atmosphere of Toledo, this cardigan reflects the calm mood of stone streets and soft gray tones after rain. The design is based on simple ribbing, creating a classic and understated look.
It features a relaxed oversized fit with 20–30 cm (7.9–11.8 inches) of positive ease at the bust, following the latest trend while keeping it wearable. Practical details like pockets and a collar add structure and charm.
Although it is hand knit, it has a high gauge of 23 stitches using 3.5 mm needles, giving it a neat and refined finish. The fabric feels light yet firm, making it easy to wear every day.
Designed as a unisex piece, it suits all ages and styles.
Calm, effortless, and quietly confident,
the Toledo Cafe Cardigan is ready for your season.
CONSTRUCTION
The cardigan is worked top down, beginning at the back shoulders. German short rows are used to shape the shoulders, and the back is worked down to the underarm. Stitches are then picked up from the shoulders to work the fronts. After shaping the neckline, the fronts are joined with the back at the underarm, and the body is worked in one piece. The sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches around the armholes. Stitches are picked up along the neckline to work the neckband, and along the front edges to work the button bands. The pockets are formed by picking up stitches from the body.
