TOP-TWIST BEANIE

A cozy, slouchy beanie with a twist, this hat is unusual not only in looks but in construction. The unique and versatile design offers the option to
stuff your hair inside the hat in inclement weather, or to release it out of the
hidden vents.

A quick, simple, and satisfyingly quirky project, the Top-Twist Beanie is especially useful for those who have voluminous hair, or who love to style their hair up in various up-dos.

There are now two versions of this pattern included with your purchase:

The in-the-round version is worked from the brim up, with the crown twisted and joined together seamlessly.

The flat version is worked like a scarf, then contorted and seamed up along the sides.

So whether you prefer flat or circular knitting, the Top Twist Beanie has you covered. The result will look and function the same, regardless.

NOTES ON SIZES & LENGTH

. Please notice that the size range includes baby & child sizes! (Do not mistakenly assume that Size 3 must be ‘Medium’ because it’s in the middle; the adult Medium is Size 4.)

. As stated in the pattern, you can use heavier yarns with this design, or a slightly lighter DK, by altruist st counts slightly. However, I do not recommend going lighter than a light-DK. The twist needs some structure and volume.

. As described in the pattern instructions, length can be adjusted (increased) for a more dramatic slouch. However, I do not recommend shortening the hat; the twist design will not work as a fitted beanie.
