Yes, I knitted my Topple in black but relax it is not an all black, it is a hand dyed beautiful bamboo with valleys of light and dark.

A light weight summer knit~ If you don’t have the right yarns on hand you’ll find the knit kits in 24 colors in my online yarn shop Yarnz2go with an instant discount. Happy knitting!

The light and airy “Topple sweater” with short sleeves and dropped shoulders as shown here is knitted flat and in the round. Of course you can add extra length in both the body and the sleeves as you like.
There is no shaping, so it’s pretty easy to knit with two beautiful lace sections, a double lace around the bottom border and a single lace pattern around the sleeve edges. The rest is done in easy going stockinette and garter stitches.
The yarn used here makes it feel light, airy and wonderfully soft.

The pattern is both, fully written and includes two lace charts.
Bust sizes range from 36/38/40/42/44/46/48/50” and an 18” to 20” positive ease worked right in.

Yarns used here
Two skeins of Auxanometer by Theodora’s Pearls, a hand dyed super soft Bamboo yarn. 400 yards/115 grams a skein in a fingering weight. For longer sleeves in sizes 46 to 50, more yarn will be needed.

Notions needed
Two US size 8 (5 mm) circular needles. One 16” (42 cm) long for the sleeves and one 36” (91 cm) in length for the body.
13 Stitch markers, lockable ones work for the finishing part.
Tapestry needle for finishing.

Gauge: It’s IMPORTANT to get correct numbers, you may need a different needle size to reach 13 sts and 19 rows in 4” of stockinette stitch.

Techniques applied
Knitting and purling flat, lace knitting, separating parts, binding off and picking up stitches again, knitting in the round, weaving in ends, blocking and seaming shoulders and sides.

Enjoy your beautiful top!
