Tot Knot Hat
Tot Knot is a precious hat that features a knot at the top with or without tassels. It is most commonly knit with 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held together. (A great way to stash bust your sock yarn!) It can also be knit with a sport weight yarn for a lighter weight hat.
To make the bow, simply knit longer tabs and tie them in a bow!

Preemie, Newborn, 12 Month and Toddler
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference unstretched: 12 (14.4, 15.6, 18)“.
Length from brim to top:5.5 (6, 7, 7.5)“.
NEEDLES
US 6 (4.0mm) 12”circulars, circulars for magic loop or 2 circulars or DPNs.
US 8 (5.0mm) 12”circulars, circulars for magic loop or 2 circulars AND DPNs.
Other notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle. Tassel maker optional
GAUGE
20 st and 32 rows to 4” in stockinette on US 8 (5.00mm) needles.
APPROXIMATE YARN AMOUNTS:
(with tassels, simple knot will take a little less)
Preemie: 120 yards fingering, 60 yards sport
Newborn: 180 yards fingering, 90 yards sport
12 Month: 220 yards fingering, 110 yards sport
Toddler: 240 yards fingering, 120 yards sport
