Trail of Leaves is a quick and easy cowl with three trailing vines of simple leaf lace on a stockinette stitch base.

The asymmetrical cowl is worked sideways from end to end, with increases only on the neck edge. It is worked to desired length of neck edge so it is easily adjusted for variances in gauge and yarn weights. The cowl is seamed at the back neck to allow for easy blocking of the leaf lace.

Trail of Leaves is a great way to use up stash and leftover yarn…maybe even use a set of gradient yarn.

The pattern is written for fingering or sport weight yarn (with instructions for DK) but can be made in any weight. Size and yarn usage may vary with differences in gauge and yarn choices.

This pattern has been professionally tech-edited and tested.
