Trieste was a pattern I came up with while on vacation by the beach. My husband is from Montenegro, on the Adriatic coast, and pictures of the Adriatic coast, along the shores of Italy, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania reminded me of the colors of the yarn I had chosen to use…deep blue to turquoise to pale blue. The shawl itself is easy construction, beginning with a garter tab cast-on. A beginner can knit this shawl, and you can vary the needle size and yarn weight for different texture and sizing - make it your own.
