Trigger Mitts // Three Finger Mittens

The main problem while wearing mittens is not be able to use our fingers practically. Trigger Mitts leaves our thumb and index fingers tip open so we can do our things while wearing them and keep our hands warm at the same time. This design inspired by mainly practicality and a little bit of humor.

Trigger Mitts are worked in the round, starting with the wrist cuff with 2x2 rib using CC. Main body is worked with MC with Stockinette stitch and stitches are increased for thumb gusset, these stitches transfered to a leftover yarn for thumb to work later and continued the body. For the index finger stitches are also transfered to a leftover yarn and continued. After some decreases, the top of the mitts are bound off using 3-needle bind off technique.

For the thumb and index finger stitches are taken onto needle again and after a couple rows of stockinette stitch, a two color motif is worked using stranded colorwork technique with MC and CC. Stitches are bound off with CC.
