In music, triple time can set a graceful rhythm full of movement. This design takes that idea both literally and figuratively: it’s knit with lace-weight yarn held triple on a large needle, creating a soft, airy fabric that feels effortless to wear. Like its companion design, The Downbeat, it embodies simplicity and creative possibility - a steady rhythm you can make your own, whether you keep it classic or improvise your own variations.

This piece features top-down, seamless raglan construction with short rows to shape the neckline. There is also the option to either add A-line body shaping or have no shaping.

Here are just a few of the yarn combo options you could consider:

Picking Your Size: I suggest picking a size that is approx 4-8”/10-20 cm larger than your actual chest measurement, depending on your desired fit.

Shown in size 3 (no body shaping), being worn with approx 7.5”/19 cm of positive ease at the bust.

Gauge: 12 sts & 18 rnds = 4”/10 cm in St st in the rnd after blocking, holding suggested yarn triple-stranded.

Yarn: 3 strands of lace-weight yarn held together, shown in Aerial by Berroco (60% Mohair, 25% Silk; 25g = 284 yds), color Birch 3416. Yardage and number of skeins broken down below:
